THE LIVING BARGE PROJECT
The Living Barge Project, a floating island on the Duwamish
River (a Superfund site), recreated the native riparian environment complete
with beach logs, topography and 450 native trees and shrubs. Five major events
allowed artists, neighbors and local organizations to use the Barge as an
anchor to attract visitors to the neighborhood.
