MANIMAL MARCH
160 man-made animal lawn ornaments
installed on the main lawn at Arizona State University with the premise that
they were on a protest march for their animal counterparts in the wild who are
getting pushed out of their homes by urban sprawl. People welcome caricatured
plastic animals but often fear and despise real wild animals. It was an
opportunity to use humor to engage people in a dialogue about the fragile
desert landscape.
