LAST CHANCE TRAVEL
The Watermark project evolved into Last Chance Travel, a
full-scale mock travel agency specializing in present and future climate
tourism that invited participants to learn more about climate change by
researching tour destinations like one would in a travel agency: seeing travel
posters, hearing descriptions of tour packages and the sights to see on the
trip. The exhibition's dark humor was
complemented by numerous public events including an opening, featured artists,
discussions and lectures, and a film screening with University of Washington
climate scientists.
In addition to these events, Last Chance Travel featured a
“Staycation Station” created by Nicole Kistler and Sarah Kavage with video by
Rob Zverina.
